Surrealism, Multiples and Melting

I'm also interested in the surrealism of Paul Delvaux, who used female forms in multiples. What they do for me is remind me that multiples--not even copies, but just multitudes, if you will--also give that surrealist feeling.

Also, Frani, the idea of trunks or other things having melted into the floor that you gave me keeps sticking with me, and I think we should definitely play with that. It reminds me--sort of--of Dali's melting clocks, but it also makes me think that the world is unstable, unfixed when even the floor, the most grounded part of the world, is not fixed and solid. I don't think the floor melts during the show, but it has done and could potentially again in the future. Plus, the melting reminds me of volcanoes and the connection there to fire and ash (and Hell, I guess) is also working for me.
